Touchweight Analysis Report
Yamaha C1 w Dampers

Analysis Overview: This report presents an analysis of the KMD touchweight curves. The data includes force-displacement measurements that characterize the feel and consistency of the piano's action across the entire keyboard. Aftertouch characteristics are calculated from the data by calculating the distance the key travels from peak force exertion until sometime near the end of where the KMD passes its downweight threshold and stops pushing. We also attempt to discern the damper lift point and weight of the damper (as felt at the key). Note that the KMD calculates down and upweight by examining the 2-4mm position, so if you have the dampers involved while measuring and they lift before 4mm, your touchweight statistics will be skewed by the early damper weight coming on.
